Gurkemeje drinks

INGREDIENTS

0.5 l gin
3 g ground turmeric
350 g light cane sugar
150 g acacia honey
0.5 l water
lime juice (3-4 cl per drink)
lots of ice cubes
5 lemongrass sticks for stirrers (as tall as the glass the drink is served in)

 

HOW TO DO IT

Mix gin and turmeric and let it steep for 1 hour. Taste it and assess whether it has taken on a good and strong taste of turmeric. If necessary, strain the gin through a coffee filter and refrigerate. Boil water with sugar and honey to make a syrup and cool it completely. Turmeric gin and syrup can be made in advance.

When serving, mix 5 cl turmeric gin with 3 cl sugar syrup and 3 cl freshly squeezed lime juice and stir with lots of ice. Serve very cold in a glass with 2-3 ice cubes and a lemongrass as a stirrer.
