Brownies with Chai Spice
INGREDIENTS
125g butter
125g brown sugar
60g light syrup
1 tsp. potash
1/2 tsp salt
1/2-1 tbsp. Kandy Spices Chai Spice
75 g blanched almonds, coarsely chopped
250g wheat flour
HOW TO DO IT
Melt butter, brown sugar and light syrup in a heavy-bottomed saucepan and bring to the boil. Dissolve baking soda in a little cold water and stir in salt and Chai Spice and stir into the hot sugar mixture together with the chopped almonds. Pour into a mixing bowl and leave to cool to room temperature. Stir in the flour and knead into thick sausages, wrap in cling film and refrigerate overnight.
Cut the brownie sausages into thin slices and bake at 200C hot air for 5-6 minutes, until the brownies smell delicious. Cool on the baking sheet and store in an airtight container.
